Hue Perspective

Introduction by Skyler Gore

“To ponder the intended meaning behind an artist’s work is to participate in a tradition as perennial as the leaves. An important consideration within any composition is color—important to the artist and viewer—since each color carries with it years of assigned virtues and values. Still, color invokes deep-seeded feelings, moods, and perceptions for each individual. This artist would like to invite you, as such an individual, to consider each color of our basic rainbow, in part and whole. Hue Perspective was intended to instill joy, power, creativity, and wonder, as each unique frame tells a unique story.”

Conclusion by Alexis Abramo

Hue Perspective began as a small idea, a monochrome photoshoot. From there it grew into more than I could’ve imagined. A goal of mine was to capture these photos and show the ability to communicate aesthetics within art, but also communicate journalism in exploring womanhood and the portrayal within media using color theory. Each set of photos are complete with two digital photos and two film photos. The power of still images can say so much as well, from the facial expressions and poses down to the models’ surroundings. This photo array is near and dear to my heart and I hope there is something that everyone can take away from any of these photos.
